Our Christmas Play

Last Wednesday night, the elementary school (and some of the other staff kids) presented the Christmas play Flower of the Holy Night. The kids had been practicing their lines and music for over a month! Since they're such a small group, everyone had a part and sang a solo.

The story is about a teacher and her students who want to present a special flower at Christmas--"just not poinsettias." So the teacher tells her students the legend of Pablo, a little boy from Mexico, who didn't have a gift to give in honor of Jesus.

In his search for the perfect gift, he meets a group of mariachis who help him understand that "the best gifts are those seen with the heart."

Eventually, he finds a poinsettia which turns out to be the perfect gift because it reminds him of the gift God gave him in sending His son.

In the end, the "class" presents poinsettias and teaches everyone that we should be thankful for all of our blessings, especially Jesus.

I was SO proud of the kids! They were SPECTACULAR!
